PROMEGA has announced the release of its GloSensor cAMP Assay which has been designed for the measurement of cAMP levels in cells.
Promega says the GloSensor cAMP Assay provides a simple and powerful new way to cAMP is a key second messenger involved in GPCR signalling, acting through Gs- and Gi-coupled proteins.
The assay uses a genetically modified form of firefly luciferase containing a cAMP-binding protein moeity.
Promega says the binding of cAMP causes a conformational change that leads to increased light output. The assay is well suited to HTS and uHTS platforms.
The GloSensor cAMP Assay comprises three components of which two are required to perform the assay; the Reagent in combination with the Cell Line or the Plasmid.
