SCITECH has unveiled the CytoViva Microscope System which allows for real time live cell imaging in nanotechnology and infectious disease research.
The system uses proprietary darkfield-based optical illumination technology which the company claims to improve contrast and signal-to-noise ratio.
The company hopes that this transmitted-light illumination system will enable scientists to observe a wide range of nano-materials quickly and easily without the need of special preparation.
The product is said to aid in the viewing of live cells and pathogens at a higher level of detail than optical imaging techniques such as phase contrast or DIC.
Components of the technology include a high resolution illuminator and Dual Mode Fluorescence (DMF) module.
The system can also be combined with a research grade optical microscope, EXFO fluorescence light source, cameras and image analysis software.
