THE ANNE Rita Monahan Foundation will host a high English afternoon tea in efforts to raise funds for ovarian cancer research on 28 Febuary 2009 at Sheraton Downtown Pheonix at 2pm.
Tea for Teal will be held as part of the foundations efforts to raise $100,000 for ovarian cancer research.
The organisation says the funds will be used for research into early stage, drug resistant ovarian cancer by the Translational genomic research institute (TGen).
Currently TGen researchers are developing an early detection screening tool and less resistant drug treatments.
The tea will be characterised by the Teal colour which represents the fight against ovarian cancer, branding similar to the Pink of breast cancer.
The foundation also runs community education programs into the female cancer, encouraging women to be regularly screened.
