Agilent rename genomics division

AGILENT Technologies have announced a renaming of a division of their life sciences solution unit.

Velocity11 has been rebranded Agilent Automation Solutions. The company will have products on display at LabAutomation2009.

Acquired in late 2007, the division formally known as Velocity11 focuses on automating laboratory processes. At the laboratory equipment event, it will introduce the Direct Drive Robot and VWorks Automation Control Software.

The company says the direct drive robot is designed to advance drug-discovery research and genomics applications. The VWorks software works in conjunction with the direct drive to produce added automation solutions.

Agilent will also be exhibiting their BenchCel and Bravo automation platforms at the event.
