ACRF calls for grant applications

THE AUSTRALIAN Cancer Researcher Foundation (ACRF) is asking for applications from across Australia from leading scientists for cancer research grants of $1.5m to $5m.

The grants will be awarded to be used for capital works, facilities, equipment and national cancer research enterprises.

The ACRF say only major research initiatives with a high change of success will qualify for the funding.

For over 25 years the ACRD has awarded $55m in cancer grants nationally.

Over the past three years, almost $25m in grants have been awarded to projects now underway at leading cancer institutes in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Hobart.

First stage Grant Applications close on Friday May 8, 2009.
