Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that its self-manufactured product lines are now available for direct purchase through its local businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
Earlier this year, Thermo Fisher Scientific acquired BioLab and since April the companies have integrated to become Thermo Fisher Scientific Australia Pty Ltd and Thermo Fisher Scientific New Zealand Ltd. As of Monday 30 November 2009, the BioLab branding will no longer be used.
The following products will be available immediately from Thermo Fisher Scientific directly:
- Chemicals - Fisherbrand Reagents and Solvents, Acros Organics, Fisher Bioreagents and Maybridge drug discovery chemicals
- Specialty plastic ware – Thermo Scientific Nunc and Nalgene
- Protein purification, detection and modifying reagents and kits – Thermo Scientific Pierce and Affinity BioReagents (ABR) antibodies
- Molecular biology reagents and consumables – Thermo Scientific ABgene
- Liquid handling – Molecular Bio Products (MBP) and Fisherbrand tips
- Air monitoring instruments – Thermo Scientific Industrial Hygiene products
The company later plans to extend the range of products available from its own Thermo Scientific and Fisher Scientific brands.
Products available from 1 January 2010 include:
- Liquid handling products - Thermo Scientific Matrix, Quality Scientific Plastics and Finnpipette
- Separation systems – Thermo Scientific Owl electrophoresis products
- Sample preparation and analysis – Thermo Scientific Microplate Instrumentation, and KingFisher Purification Systems
- Cell culture, sera, media and bio-processing systems – Thermo Scientific Hyclone
- Anatomical pathology instruments and consumables – Thermo Scientific Shandon, Microm, Richard Allan Scientific and Raymond Lamb
- Laboratory equipment - Thermo Scientific Revco, Heraeus, Sorvall and Fiberlite (together with our current Thermo Scientific Savant and Forma product ranges)
- Water analysis instrumentation - Orion and Eutech Instruments
Current local distributors of Thermo Fisher Scientific products will continue to service customers as before.
